Two Weeks

Posted by Rebecca

April 9, 2010 was possession day and April 23, 2010 was moving day.  I had exactly two weeks to do as much as possible before moving in.  And I had a lot on my plate.  Thank goodness for amazing friends.

Those two weeks consisted of demolition, cleaning, new floors, new paint on every interior surface, selling, giving away and dumping 3/4 of my possessions, and countless trips to the hardware store, all while working full time and mending a broken heart.  I clearly could not have done it without all the help of some wonderful people.

They painted my walls, replaced my floors, scrubbed away 52 years of grease and grime, helped with yard sales and Craigslist and packing, and provided company and comic relief as needed.  And we did it.  In two weeks my new home wasn’t perfect, but it was on its way.

New walls and floors.

Moving day.

One of my new neighbors, Joey.

About trailerchic

Somehow I ended up in a single-wide trailer, in Reno, Nevada. And somehow I love it. Here is where I tell my story about my trailer, and my passion for small space living, photography, travelling, and running.
