Western New York – Part 1

Posted by Rebecca

I went east a couple of weeks ago, to visit my fella, who lives in Jamestown, NY.  It’s a little over an hour from Buffalo, and about an hour and a half from Niagara falls.

I arrived on a Friday night, and John picked me up from the airport with a surprise….  He had flown Kara in from Orlando to spend the weekend with me.  Best surprise ever!  If you don’t know who Kara is, read about her here.  Her move to Florida has been really hard on both of us, so it was great to see each other and re-connect.

Here are some photos of our day wandering around historic Jamestown….

John and I shortly after my arrival.

Kara and I, reunited.  And it feels so good.  😉

Beautiful old entrance.

This is a sample of the artwork that is displayed on the outside of many of the brick buildings downtown.

The hilly streets.

An amazing building that is begging to be restored and re-opened.

Reg Lenna Civic Center.

The small downtown area is quaint with beautiful brick buildings and lots of trees.  And a fantastic vegetarian cafe, Labyrinth Press Company.  If you are ever in the area, be sure to check it out.
